Aquaproof & Anchoring Systems

Conbextra EP10 is a solvent free epoxy resin grout designed for grouting of gap widths of 0.25 to 10mm. It is an all liquid system consisting of base and hardener. The components are supplied in the correct mix proportions designed for whole pack mixing on site.

Uses
Provides a free flowing grout, for use where physical properties and chemical resistance of the hardened grout are of utmost importance. It is suitable for a wide range of heavy duty applications including :

• Underplate grouting to structural elements. 
• Base plate grouting in dynamic load situations such as turbines and other reciprocating machinery. 
• Heavy industrial applications in steelworks, refineries chemical plants and electroplating works. 
• Structural infill where very high strength is required. 
• Rail track applications, to support heavy cranes, or on transporter rails.

Features:

• Styrene-free, quick-curing high-performance hybrid mortar (contains vinylester resin and cement).
• Resin and cement as well as water and hardener are stored in two separate chambers and are not mixed and activated until pushed through the static mixer.
• Partially-used cartridges can easily be reused by changing the static mixer. FIS VW 300 T can be pressed out in a standard silicone dispenser.

Uses

Conbextra GP2(N) is used for precision grouting where it is essential to withstand static and dynamic loads. Typical applications would be the grouting of base plates of turbines, compressors, boiler feed pumps etc., It can also be used for anchoring a wide range of fixings. These include masts, anchor bolts and fence posts.

Description

Conbextra GP2(N) is supplied as a ready to use dry powder. The addition of a controlled amount of clean water produces a free flowing, non-shrink grout for gap thicknesses up to 100mm.

Conbextra GP2(N) is a blend of Portland cement, gradedfillers and chemical additives which impart controlled expansion in the plastic state whilst minimising water demand. The low water demand ensures high early strength. The graded fi llers are designed to assist uniform mixing and produce a consistent grout.

The compressive strength of the grout must exceed 50 N/mm2 at 7 days and 60 N/mm2 at 28 days.

The fl exural strength of grout must exceed 9N/mm2 @ 28 days. The fresh wet density of the mixed grout must exceed 2150 kg/m3.

The storage, handling and placement of the grout must be in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Application instructionsPreparation

Foundation surfaceThe substrate surface must be free from oil, grease or any loosely adherent material. If the concrete surface is defective or has laitence, it must be cut back to a sound base. Bolt holes and fi xing pockets must be blown clean of any dirt or debris.

Mixing and placing

MixingFor best results a mechanically powered grout mixer should be used. When quantities up to 50kg are used, a heavy duty slow speed drill (400-500 rpm) fi tted with a paddle is suitable..Larger quantities will require a heavy duty mixer.

To enable the grouting operation to be carried out continu-ously, it is essential that sufficient mixing capacity and labour are available. The use of a grout holding tank with provision to gently agitate the grout may be required.

Consistency of grout mix
The quantity of clean water required to be added to a 30kg bag to achieve the desired consistency is given below :
Pourable : 4.5 litresFlowable : 4.8 litres

The selected water content should be accurately measured into the mixer. The total content of the Conbextra GP2(N) bag should be slowly added and continuous mixing should take place for 5 minutes. This will ensure that the grout has a smooth even consistency.

Placing

At 300C place the grout within 20 minutes of mixing to gain full benefit of the expansion process.

Conbextra GP2(N) can be placed in thicknesses up to 100mm in a single pour when used as an underplate grout.

For thicker sections it is necessary to fill out Conbextra GP2 (N) with well graded silt free aggregate to minimise heat build up. Typically a 10mm aggregate is suitable. 50 - 100% aggregate by weight of Conbextra GP2(N) can be added.

Conbextra EP75 is a solvent free epoxy resin grout designed for grouting of gap widths of 10 to 75 mm. It is supplied as athree component system consisting of base, hardener and specially graded aggregate. The components are supplied in the correct mix proportions designed for whole pack mixingon site.

Uses: Provides a free flowing grout, for use  where physical properties and chemical resistance of the hardened grout are of utmost importance. It is suitable for a wide range of heavy duty applications including :

Description
Lokfix E35 is a two component Polyester anchoring material, supplied in single component cartridges with a static mixer nozzle. When applied it sets and cures rapidly to firmly secure a variety of steel fixings into concrete and masonry substrates. 

Three grades of Lokfix E35 are available, selection is normally based upon the substrate installation temperature : 

Lokfix E35S: Standard temperature grade, optimised for substrate installation temperatures between -5 to +40 Degree C. 

Assistance and qualification
Design of fixings and reinforcement must be undertaken by suitably qualified personnel with understanding of the construction and use of the structure, the use of the fixing, as well as being in compliance with local legislation. 

In applications where fixings must be designed and applied in compliance with the requirements of the ETA, designers should consult the relevant Fosroc accreditation documents.

Lokfix E35S E35T and E35L are supplied in boxes of 12 no. 300ml cartridges, each supplied with a single mixer nozzle. Fosroc may also supply: 

Steel brushes, in various diameters to clean the hole. 
 Dust blower pump, one size, hand held to clean the hole.
Hollow block sleeves, in a variety of diameters and embedded lengths for hollow bricks and blocks. 
Extension nozzle, essential where the embedment depth is greater than 190mm. In various lengths. 
Piston plugs, required where the hole diameter is >20mm or where embedment depth is >240mm. Must be used with an extension nozzle.
 Application guns, hand held for cartridge application.
Spare mixer nozzles, required if re-using a cartridge. 

Yield
Standard yield estimation is provided in table 5 based on the hole diameter, fixing size and embedded length. 

For non standard consumption the calculation below may be used. Factors such as over-drilling, extrusion from bolt hole, initial gun extrusion and wastage to be considered.

Storage
300ml cartridges have a maximum shelf life of 12 months when kept in a dry warehouse at between +5 to +25??C.

Description:-
Lokfix E55 is a two component vinyl-ester anchoring material, supplied in single component cartridges with a static mixer nozzle. When applied it sets and cures rapidly to firmly secure a variety of steel fixings into concrete and masonry substrates.

Two grades of Lokfix E55 are available, selection is based upon substrate installation temperature and compliance :

Lokfix E55S: Standard temperature grade, optimised for substrate installation temperatures between -10 to +40 Degree C. 

Hole Formation and Preparation
Drill hole with percussive drill ensuring sides of the concrete are rough. If rebar is struck immediately stop drilling and seek the advice of the designing engineer. Clean holes immediately prior to installation of fixings to avoid them becoming re-contaminated. Standing water in the hole shall be removed prior to preparation. Using a hand pump or compressed air insert the nozzle to the back of the hole and blow out 4 times.
Insert a wire cleaning brush to the bottom of the hole and brush out 4 times. Using a hand pump or compressed air insert the nozzle to the back of the hole and blow out an additional 4 times. If dust is still present, repeat the process until no further dust is visible.
Ensure the drill bit and the cleaning brush are of suitable diameter for the fixing used. 

Threaded rod:
Drill bit ?? = rod diameter +2mm
Wire brush ?? = rod diameter +4mm

Reinforcement:
Drill bit ?? = rod diameter +4mm
Wire brush ?? = rod diameter +6mm

Installation
Unscrew the fixing cap. Pull the plastic within the tube slightly upwards so that the steel collar is exposed, cut the plastic tube competently removing the metal clip and discard. Screw the static mixer nozzle onto the cartridge. Place the cartridge into the application gun.Pull the trigger to extrude the Lokfix E55.

Important: extrude the initial material until the colour becomes grey and consistent. This typically takes two or three full squeezes. Discard material that is streaky in colour. Insert the nozzle to the back of the hole and pump the Lokfix material gently pulling back until the hole is ?? full. Ensure there are no voids in the resin. If the hole is too deep for the nozzle to reach the back, use a nozzle extender. In wide/overhead holes a piston plug will help reduce slump and ensure a void fee application.

• are used for high strength corrosion resistant anchoring of bolts and bars from 12 - 51mm diameter into concrete, rock, masonry or brickwork where high speed of installation and early application of load is required. Permanent installation of reinforcement starter bars, foundation bolts, base plates, balus trading, barriers and safety fences, railway tracks, tie-back anchors, reinforcement dowelling abutments, ground anchors for towers,  cranes, dock sills.

Description:

• The three versions of Lokfix polyester resin grout are all  pre-measured, two part, filled polyster resin grouts.
• After hardening the grout produces anchorages of consistent reproducible values. The versions are:
• Lokfix L (Large  aggregate) Lokfix S (Small aggregate) Lokfix P (Pumpable grade) 
• Lokfix L is used where hole diameter exceeds bar diameter by 25 to 50mm. 
• Lokfix S is used where the difference between the hole diameter and bar diameter is <25mm.
•  Lokfix P is used in overhead or horizontal holes where bar /hole relationship conforms to Lokfix polyester resin grout S.
• The thixotropic nature of Lokfix polyester resin grout P reduces flow of grout out of the hole.
