Penetron Crtstalline is a surface-      applied, integral crystalline waterproofing material, which waterproofs and protects concrete in-depth. It consists of portland cement, specially treated quartz sand and a compound of active chemicals. Penetron Crystalline needs only to be mixed with water prior to application.

when Penetron Crystalline is applied to a concrete surface, the active chemicals react with moisture and the by-products of cement hydration to cause a catalytic reaction that generates an insoluble, crystalline structure. These crystals fill the poresand minor shrinkage cracks in the concrete to prevent any further water ingress (even under pressure). However,Penetron Crystalline will still allow the passage of vapor through the structure (i. E. The concrete will be able to “breathe”). Even after the concrete has cured, Penetron Crystalline remains dormant in the concrete and will reactivate in the presence of moisture to seal capillary tracts and hairline cracks.

In addition to waterproofing the structure, Penetron Crystalline protects concrete against seawater, wastewater, aggressive groundwater and many other aggressive chemical solutions. Penetron Crystalline is approved for use in contact with potable water and is therefore suitable for use in water storage tanks, reservoirs, water treatment plants, etc.

Post-treatment: The treated areas should be kept damp for a period of five days and must be protected against direct sun, wind and frost, by covering with polyethylene sheeting, damp burlap or similar. Use water to clean all tools immediately after use.

Brushbond® TGP crystalline         capillary waterproofing system contains proprietary blend of portland cement, quartz aggregate and special chemicals. In the presence of moisture, the active chemicals in Brushbond® TGP crystalline waterproofing system penetrates concrete and react chemically with free lime to produce insoluble crystals. This crystalline growth reduces porosity by blocking capillaries and filling hairline non structural cracks ( upto 0.25mm wide) caused by shrinkage or expansion. Penebar SW 45 Rapid is a unique sealing compound designed to expand rapidly when exposed to moisture making it a self-healing joint material for construction joint applications.

Recommended For

Typical Applications for Penebar SW 45 Rapid include building foundations, slabs, retaining walls, storage tanks,and similar non-moving cold construction joints.

Directions For Use

How to apply Penebar SW 45 Rapid on poured-in-place construction joints:

• Carefully brush off all dust and debris. Apply a coat of Penebar Primer (Ratio: 240 m (787 ft) Penebar SW 45 Rapid to 3.78 L (1 gal) Penebar prime) to the area where Penebar SW 45 is to be placed.
• By using the heel of the hand and moderate pressure, press a bead of PENEBAR SW-45 firmly into position on the standing structure. Make sure the product has bonded with the primed area.
• Where required, splice ends to form a continuous, uninterrupted seal. For best results, cut each end at opposite 45 degree angles and tightly butt ends together. Do not overlap ends. Gently knead the spliced ends creating an uninterrupted seal.
• Peel the protective covering from the exposed side of the installed Penebar SW 45 Rapid.
• Follow standard concrete placing procedures from here onwards.

Special Considerations

• Always use Penebar Primer to ensure tight adhesion and to aid in preventing Penebar SW 45 Rapid frommoving during the concrete pour. For vertical surfaces, nails may be used to hold the product in place in conjunction with Penebar Primer.
• Penebar SW 45 Rapid should be used at a minimum depth of 50 mm (2”) inside the concrete.
• When used on pipes and other structural penetrations,Penebar SW 45 Rapid should be cut to measured length and placed around the penetration with ends butted.
• In all cases, Penebar SW 45 Rapid should be in direct contact with the substrate along the entire length of the installation.
• Penebar SW 45 Rapid is not an expansion joint sealant and only suitable for non-moving concrete joints.
• Penebar SW 45 Rapid should not be installed in standing water or on frozen or icy surfaces.

Packaging

• Type A is packaged 30 meters/carton (6 rolls, 19 mm × 25mm × 5 m each).

• Type B is packaged 24 meters/carton (6 rolls, 9 mm × 25 mm × 4 m each).

Storage/ Shelf Life
When stored in a dry enclosed area off the ground at a minimum temperature of 7 degree C (45 Degree F) in unopened, undamaged cartons, shelf life is unlimited.

Penecrete Mortar consists of Portland cement, specially treated quartz sand and     a compound of active chemicals.The active chemicals react with moisture and the by-products of cement hydration to cause a catalytic reaction, whichgenerates an insoluble integral crystalline complex. These crystalline complexes grow in the presence of water; block thecapillaries of the concrete and minor shrinkage cracks, thus waterproofing it. Chemical activation begins when the powderis mixed with water and may take several days to completely block the capillaries depending on ambient temperature andenvironmental conditions.

Direction For Use

Surface Preparation: All surfaces to be patched,repaired or sealed with Penecrete Mortar™ must be clean and sound. Cracks should be routed out to a U- shaped configuration, approximately 3/4” (20 mm) wideand a minimum of 3/4” (20 mm) deep. Tie holes should beroughened prior to filling. Spalled and honey combed areas must be thoroughly cleaned and chiseled back to sound concrete prior to repair. Remove all dirt, cementlaitance, form release agents, curing compounds, paints, coatings, etc. by means of wet or dry sand blasting, highpressure water jet or other suitable mechanical means.Surfaces must be well moistened to a dull dampness at thetime of application. The concrete should be damp with nowet sheen on the surface.

Mixing: For routed cracks, coves and non-moving joints,add water to Penecrete Mortar until a medium stiff,trowelable consistency is reached. The texture of the mixshould be pliable enough to be trowelled into the crackswith some pressure, but not so pliable that it would run outor sag out of the crack.
Approximate mixing ratio (by volume) is 4½ parts powderto 1 part water. Alternatively, 100 ml of water to 450 g of Penecrete Mortar  powder.For tie holes and pointing applications, add only a smallamount of water. Mixed consistency should be that of “dry earth”, holding a shape when squeezed in your hand but easily crumbled when pressed between fingers. Mix only asmuch material as can be used within 20 minutes.

CRYSTALLINE WATERPROOFING ADMIXTURE

DESCRIPTION

PENETRON ADMIX® (integral          crystalline waterproofing admix) is added to the concrete mix at the time of batching. PENETRON ADMIX® consists of Portland cement and various active, proprietary chemicals. These active chemicals react with the moisture in fresh concrete and with the by-productsof cement hydration to cause a catalytic reaction, which generates a non-soluble crystalline formation throughout the pores and capillary tracts of the concrete. Thus, the concrete becomes permanently sealed against the penetration of water or liquids from any direction. The concrete is also protected from deterioration due to harsh environmental conditions.PENETRON ADMIX® has been specially formulated to meet varying project and temperature conditions (see Setting time and strength). DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Dosage rate:
0.8-1.0% by weight of cement. Consult with Penetron’s Technical Department for assistance in verifying the appropriate dosage rate and for further information regarding enhanced chemical resistance and optimum concrete performance for your project.
Mixing:

PENETRON ADMIX® must be added to the concrete at the time of batching.
Ready mix plant - Dry batch operation: Add PENETRON ADMIX® in powder form to the drum of the ready-mix truck. Drive the truck under the batch plant and add 60%-70% of the required water, along with 300-500 lb (136-227 kg) of aggregate. Mix the materials for 2-3 minutes to ensure thePENETRON ADMIX® is distributed evenly throughout the mix water. Add the balance of materials to the ready-mix truck in accordance with standard batching practices.

Ready mix plant - Central mix operation: Mix PENETRON ADMIX® with water to form a very thin slurry (e.g. 40 lb (18 kg) of powder mixed with 6 gallons (22.7 l) of water). Pour the required amount of material into the drum of the ready-mix truck. The aggregate, cement, sand and water should be batched and mixed in the plant in accordance with standardpractices (taking into account the quantity of water that has already been placed in the ready-mix truck). Pour the concrete into the truck and mix for at least 5 minutes to ensure even distribution of PENETRON ADMIX® throughout the concrete.

Setting time and strength:The setting time of concrete is affected by the chemical and physical composition of ingredients, temperature of the concrete and climatic conditions. Retardation of set may occur when using PENETRON ADMIX®. The amount of retardation will depend upon the concrete mix design and the dosage rate of PENETRON ADMIX®. However, under normal conditions,PENETRON ADMIX® will provide a normal set concrete. Concrete containing PENETRON ADMIX® may develop higher ultimate strengths than plain concrete. Trial mixes should be carried out under project conditions to determine setting time and strength of the concrete. Concrete treated with PENETRON ADMIX® should be placed and finished in accordance with good concrete practices. ACI guidelines and recommendations should be observed.

Peneplug Crystalline Waterproofing Rapid Set Waterplug is a rapid setting, integral crystalline cementitious waterstop designed to stop active water leaks and moisture ingress. It can be used internally or externally as a waterproof plugging mortar or where rapid setting and early strength gain is required.

Peneplug should be stored dry at a minimum temperature of 45degreeF (7degreeC). When properly stored in a dry cool place in unopened and undamaged original packaging, shelf life is 12 months.

Peneplug is available in 40-lb (18-kg) bags or55-lb (25-kg) pails.

Directions For Use

Surface preparation:
The substrate must be clean, sound and free of anysurface contamination, such as oils, coatings, paints,dirt, etc. Leaking areas must be cut back to sound material,leaving an appropriate chase for receiving Peneplug.Mixing:Setting time is dependent largely on the amount ofmixing water used. Standard mixing ratio at 68degreeF (20degreeC)is 2.5 lb (1.1 kg) Peneplug and approximately 1 cup (0.25 l) of water. Water must be added to Peneplug and mixed quickly. The mixshould have a dry pack (dry earth) consistency, holding a shape when squeezed in your hand but easily crumbled when pressed with fingers. Mixing time is about 15 seconds, with setting occurring about 30 seconds later. In cold weather, uselukewarm water. In higher temperatures, use cold water.

Application:

To avoid waste, only small quantities of Peneplug should be mixed. After mixing, apply Peneplug to the appropriate area immediately. Material should be formed into a wedge and forced into the leak. This can be accomplished with theuse of a block of wood and hammer. Work the plug well into the area and then, applying as much pressure as possible, hold firmly in place for about 30 seconds or until set. After the leak has stopped, prime the area with a bond coat of Penetron and then fill the remaining void to the surface with Penecrete Mortar. Remove excess material. After lightly pre-wetting, apply a final coat of Penetron to the repaired area.

In certain circumstances, Peneplug may be applied as a dry powder. After preparing the surface as described above, place and hold the powder directly over the leak for 30-60 seconds.

Penetron Plus-Dry Shake is a unique integral crystalline chemical treatment       for the waterproofing and protection of concrete. Penetron Plus has been specially formulated for dry-shakeapplications on horizontal concrete surfaces where greater impact and abrasion resistance is required. Packaged in the form of a dry powder compound,Penetron Plus consists of Portland cement, various active proprietary chemicals, and a synthetic aggregate hardener that has been crushed and graded to particle sizes suitable for concrete floors. Penetron Plus becomes an integral part of the concrete surface, thereby eliminating problems normally associated with coatings (e.g. scaling, dusting, flaking and delamination). Theactive chemicals react with the moisture in the fresh concrete causing a catalytic reaction that generates a non-soluble crystalline formation.
