Description:
Decofill acrylic sealant is a white acrylic based gap filler in paste form for application from a cartridge. It is very quick and easy to apply and can be finished or smoothed off with a spatula or a damp sponge. It sets quickly on the application and will accept paint or wallpaper finishes.
Typical uses for Decofill acrylic sealant are gaps between skirtings, window and door frames, fitted furniture units and ceiling cornices and adjacent plasterwork. Where replacement windows are installed Decofill acrylic sealant can be used to make good between new frames and interior plasterwork.

Design criteria
Joint size
Decofill acrylic sealant is primarily applied as a triangular fillet into angles. Gaps up to 25mm wide can be filled using Decofill acrylic sealant without slumping although the larger volume of the compound will take longer to set and will give some shrinkage on the setting, forming a concave surface.


Specification clause:
The flexible filler for interior gaps and cracks shall be a Decofill acrylic sealant, which shall exhibit excellent adhesion to most building materials and compatible for application over walls/ceiling cornices, door and window frame surrounds, fitted furniture, skirtings, staircase, etc., easily applied and finished. It shall be fast setting, non-staining, and form a flexible seal, which can be overpainted or papered just after 8 hours at 30 0 C. Cured Decofill acrylic sealant shall have a Shore 'A' hardness of about 30, and resist water. It shall fully cure by the loss of water. It shall have a solids content minimum of 80% and maximum density of about 1.7 kg/ liter at 25 0 C and shall be easily applied with the help of a sealant gun.

Preparation
Surfaces shall be clean, dry and free from grease. Decofill acrylic sealant adheres to most materials common in the building industry including concrete, brickwork, plaster, wood and glazed tiles.
Priming is not normally required. Decofill acrylic sealant should not be used in poorly ventilated spaces or in prolonged high humidity conditions.

Description

Nitocote Wall Guard is water-based polymer coating composed of a high-quality acrylic polymer, with weather resistant pigments, properly selected & graded fine fillers. It is used as a waterproofing & decorative coating for protection of exterior walls of the buildings from the heavy wind-driven rain.

 

Specification Clause:

Waterproof coating for external masonry/RCC walls shall be Nitocote Wall Guard an acrylic water-based elastomeric & decorative coating applied at 110 micron DFT in two coats as per manufacturer specification. Coating shall be UV resistant, breathable & flexible having minimum 100% elongation when applied at 110 micron DFT.

 

Application instructions

Surface Preparation

All surface should be dry and free from contamination such as oil, grease, loose particles, decayed matter, moss, algae growth, laitance, and all traces of mold release oils and curing compounds. Where moss, algae or similar growths have occurred, treatment with a proprietary biocide should be carried out.

Note: It is not necessary to remove Fosroc’s Nitobond AR curing membrane prior to the application of Nitocote Wall Guard provided the adhesion to the substrate is excellent. Where application over existing sound coatings is required, trials should be conducted to ensure compatibility and retention of the bond between the underlying coating and the substrate. For further advice, consult Fosroc. It is essential to produce an unbroken coating of Nitocote Wall Guard. To ensure this is achieved, surfaces containing blow holes or similar areas of pitting should first be filled using a suitable cementitious fairing coat like Renderoc FC or Acrylic fairing coat like Nitocote Putty ( for further details, refer to Fosroc). The cementitious fairing coat should be allowed to cure for about 48 hours depending on ambient conditions prior to application of Nitocote Wall Guard.

Mixing

The contents of Nitocote Wall Guard shall be thoroughly stirred for at least2 minutes using a slow speed (300 - 400 RPM) drill machine attached with a mixing paddle.


Application

Apply Nitocote Wall Guard with a nylon brush, or a felt roller, to the prepared substrate. Allow Nitocote Wall Guard first coat to dry for 5-6 hours at 30 0 C and then apply the second coat. In order to obtain the waterproof properties of the Nitocote Wall Guard, it is important that the correct rates of application and over coating time are observed. Nitocote Wall Guard shall be applied at theoretical application rate 3 to 3.5 m / litres for 2 coats. Application should not commence if the temperature of the substrate is below 10 C.

Nitoflor FC140 is a three component solvent based, epoxy resin coating system supplied in pre-weighed packs ready for on-site mixing and use.

The cured film forms a hard but flexible coating with excellent adhesion to clean concrete, sand/cement and granolithic screeds, and certain metal surfaces. It cures to a semi-gloss, impervious finish which is easily cleaned. 

The product is available in a range of standard colours and is also available in a clear grade.

Uses

To provide a hard wearing, easily cleaned, attractive floor coating in areas where high resistance to chemical attack is required. Description:
  • Nitoproof 600 single component pitch modified polyurethane cures by reaction with atmospheric moisture to give a tough elastomeric waterproof membrane. It is supplied in a single grade to meet all site application methods and requirements. Nitoproof 600 is a medium viscosity grade (approximately 600 poise) for roller, squeegee or spray application to horizontal and vertical surfaces.

Instructions for Use:
Preparation: All surfaces to be waterproofed should be sound, clean and dry. Concrete surfaces should have a light steel-trowel followed by a fine hair-broom or equivalent finish which is dry and free of dust, oil and other contaminants. All high spots should be removed. Moss and lichen must be removed physically followed by treatment with fungicidal wash to kill any spores and inhibit further growth. After treatment wash down thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry. All metal surfaces should be made clean of paint, oils, rust and other contaminants. Abrade to expose bright metal then wipe clean with Fosroc Solvent 102 prior to priming.

Priming:
Priming is not normally required on good quality concrete substrates. However, absorbent surfaces such as porous concrete, sand/cement and cement boards will require sealing to prevent absorption of Nitoproof 600. This should be done using a 1:1 mixture of Nitoproof 600 and Fosroc Solvent 102. Use Nitoprime 32* as a primer for bituminous surfaces. All metal and PVC surfaces should be cleaned and abraded before priming.

Movement joints:
All expansion and movement joints should be sealed with Nitoseal 220*† . When cured, Nitoseal Debonding Tape*† should be applied to the top surface of the sealant and the joint then overcoated with a 1.3mm thick application of Nitoproof 600 extending 150mm each side of the tape. Embed a 100mm or 150mm wide strip of Nitoproof Scrim*† , then allow to cure before general application.

Description 
Brushbond TGP* crystalline capillary waterproofing system
contains proprietary blend of portland cement, quartz
aggregate and special chemicals. In the presence of
moisture, the active chemicals in Brushbond TGP* crystalline
waterproofing system penetrates concrete and react
chemically with free lime to produce insoluble crystals. This
crystalline growth reduces porosity by blocking capillaries and
filling hairline non structural cracks ( upto 0.25mm wide)
caused by shrinkage or expansion. Unlike metallic and
membrane types of waterproofing which only form a surface
barrier, Brushbond TGP* crystalline waterproofing system, in
the presence of water, continues producing crystals and
lasting imperviousness to water.
Instructions for use 
Surface preparation 
Old concrete 
Surfaces must be clean and sound. Remove all oil, dirt,
laitance and other contaminants by water blasting.
Water blasting is preferred for surface preparation because it
mechanically cleans and roughens the surface, is
environmentally safer and leaves the surface saturated with
water. Surface must be damp for application of Brushbond
TGP* crystalline waterproofing system, concentrate.
New concrete
After forms are stripped, acid etch or sand blast / water blast
to facilitate penetration of crystals formed during the chemical
reaction. Surface must be left damp for application on
Brushbond TGP* crystalline waterproofing system.
Construction joints, cold joints and non-leaking joints greater
than 0.25mm wide must be cut in V-groove shape and filled
with Brushbond TGP* crystalline waterproofing system in
mortar consistency.
Mixing
For best results, clean, potable water should be added to
Brushbond TGP* crystalline waterproofing system
concentrate.
Application
Existing concrete 
3 parts of powder shall be added to 1 part of clean and mixed
thoroughly with a slow speed drill equipped with a paddle.
For larger batches, mixing shall be done with a mortar mixer.
Do not mix more material than can be used in 20 minutes @
270C, 50% R.H. If mixture thickens, it shall be restirred to
reduce consistency. Extra water should not be added.
Storage 
Brushbond TGP* crystalline waterproofing system
concentrate should be stored in protected, dry areas. When
left in original unopened package, Brushbond TGP* crystalline
waterproofing system will maintain its design performance
characteristics for 1 year.

Uses
 Brushbond RFX is an high performance elastomeric
cementitious coating used for waterproofing and to protect
atmospherically exposed reinforced concrete structures from
attack by acid gases, chloride ions, oxygen & water.
Brushbond RFX is suitable for all types of structures including
those in coastal environments.
The product can be used on concrete, brick and blockwork
substrates and is equally suitable for new and existing
structures. The product is designed to reface and even out
variations in concrete and masonry surfaces and bridge
shrinkage cracks. It provides a seamless, flexible waterproof
coating suitable for water tanks, reservoirs, drainage culverts
basements and roofs. The product provides a tough durable
water resistant coating which can withstand light pedestrian
traffic and also has excellent weather resistance for exterior
applications.

Description 
Brushbond RFX is a two component acrylic polymer modified
cementitious coating which consists of Brushbond RFX powder
and Brushbond RFX liquid acrylic emulsion. It requires only the
addition of clean water at site to produce an easily brushable
coating.
Brushbond RFX can simply be applied by stiff brush,
roller or trowel to obtain the desired thickness.

Application Instructions 
Surface Preparation
All surfaces which are to receive the coating must be free from
oil, laitance, grease, wax, dirt or any other form of foreign matter which might affect adhesion. Typically concrete surfaces can be cleaned using high pressure water jet or grit blasting or by proper wire brushing. Spalled surfaces or those containing large blow holes, cracks and other such defects should be repaired using Renderoc concrete repair mortars. For further advice on suitable repair mortars, contact the local Fosroc Office.
Mixing
Brushbond RFX liquid concentrate should be poured into a
plastic container or metal drum. Clean fresh water is added in
the proportions shown below and mixing commenced with a
propeller agitator attached to a slow speed drill (500pm). The
powder component should be added gradually to the liquid to
avoid lump formation and mixed for 2-4 minutes. Brushbond
RFX should be immediately used after mixing. Do not mix more material than can be used within the pot life. Keep stirring Brushbond RFX during the application

Application
For best results, surfaces should be damp. In order to
obtain the protective properties of Brushbond RFX, it is
important that the correct rates of application are
observed. Use a short stiff brush preferably 120-150mm
width and apply the mixed material like paint.

The application of Brushbond RFX should not be done if the
temperature of the substrate is below 100C. When applying
Brushbond RFX on hot substrates i.e., over 300C surface
temperature, saturate the surface with water. Apply Brushbond RFX in 2 coats to achieve 1mm thickness.

All surfaces must be clean and dry and all loosely adhering particles such as rust, mill scale, mortar, cement laitance etc should be carefully removed by wire or stiff brushing and finally soft brushing to remove dust.

Surfaces must be free from oil and grease. In the case of cementitious surfaces, oil and grease can be removed with proprietary chemical degreaser and in the case of steelwork, oil or grease should be removed by Fosroc Solvent 102*.

Surfaces to be treated with Nitoproof 120 coating should always be primed with Nitoproof 110.
Application
Stir well until a homogeneous mix is achieved. In case of part use close the drum tightly in order to avoid the gelling of the part material. Nitoproof 120 can be applied by brush, roller or spray equipment.

Below Ground
Apply Nitoproof 110 as a prime coat onto the prepared substrate.
Apply Nitoproof 120 evenly over the dry primed surface.

Economy roof membrane for non-critical areas
For low cost roofing application, the roof slab should be at least 28 days old, the surface prepared by priming with Nitoproof 110. Cracks will be highlighted as the bitumen coating dries and when completely dry, should be dealt with by applying 1 coat of Nitoproof 120 over the cracks at 1mm thickness, 50mm either side. Nitoproof Scrim* reinforcement should then be embedded into the Nitoproof 120 then overcoated with a second coat of 1mm w.f.t..

Description
Fosroc Acid Etch concrete remover, cleaning and etching agent, is a combination of acid based material, corrosion inhibitors and dispersing agents and is supplied as a cleargreen solution.


Application Instructions:

Cleaning brickwork and rust stains from concreteA small trial area should be cleaned first to determine the most suitable Fosroc Acid Etch dilution. Pre-wet the surface, then, using a sponge, rub the affected areas with a solution of Fosroc Acid Etch and water. Strength of the solution required will vary but should be between 1:1 and 1:4 (by volume) Fosroc Acid Etch to water. When the action has finished, wash down thoroughly with clean water. As treatment with Fosroc Acid Etch can alter the surface finish of concrete, the minimum concentration necessary for effective removal of stains should be employed. The surface should be washed down with water immediately treatment is complete.

Cleaning large items of equipment
(Examples are readymix trucks, concrete mixers or barrows). Fosroc Acid Etch should be liberally applied to the deposits by a soft broom and allowed to soak overnight if possible. If the surfaces of the deposit can be cracked by mechanical means this will speed up the operation. In severe cases more than one application may be necessary. On completion, dissolved deposits and loose material should be brushed and washed away with clean water.

Cleaning small tools Fosroc Acid Etch Cleaning small toolsUse Fosroc Acid Etch as a dip. The tools should be soaked overnight, then taken out and washed with clean water to remove all loosely adhering materials. Care should be taken to avoid prolonged contact between Fosroc Acid Etch and zinc or aluminium parts of tools, such as rivets, etc
Cleaning concrete floors
Pre-wet the floors, then, using a stiff bristle broom, brush the affected areas with a solution of Fosroc Acid Etch and water. Strength of the solution required will vary but should be between 1:1 and 1:4 Fosroc Acid Etch to water. When the action has finished, wash down thoroughly with clean water.Oil or grease should be removed by treatment with a suitable chemical degreaser followed by water or steam cleaning. Where heavy contamination occurs, as in garages or workshops, pre-treatment with Fosroc Acid Etch assists in freeing oil or grease and renders the action of the degreaser used more effective.

Removal of rust and mill scale
After wire brushing to remove loose material, apply a solution of Fosroc Acid Etch and water using a soft broom or brush and leave to act for 20-40 minutes. Strength of the solution required will normally be between 1:1 and 1:4 Fosroc Acid Etch to water. Wire brush again to remove remaining loose material and finish by thoroughly washing down with clean water. Repeat if necessary

Spillage:
Spillages should be hosed down with plenty of water.

Caution: Fosroc Acid Etch is acid based and should be handled with care. Acid vapours from undiluted product can damage nearby surfaces, notably causing rusting of unprotected steel. If in doubt about its effect on a material, test a small area before general application

  • N.B.: The minimum dosage is 125ml and the maximum is 200ml per 50kgs of cement. If maximum dosage is used a minimum of 15% water should be reduced to ensure no loss in strength. Site trials shall be carried out to arrive at the optimum dosage.

    Specification:
    The filler for minor surface imperfections (up to 3 mm depth) shall be Renderoc FC - a single component, polymer modified, cementitious mortar. The material shall be capable of use without the need for an independent primer or curing system.

    Standards compliance
    Renderoc FC has been approved by the British Board of Agreement, under Certificate No. 98/3461.

    Design criteria:
    Renderoc FC is designed for vertical and overhead use in filling voids up to a depth of 3 mm. It can also be used to render over large areas, from a feather-edge up to 3 mm thickness.
    Anti-dusting properties may be imparted upon the mix by the addition of Nitobond SBR*† to the gauging water. This will also enhance other performance properties, but should not be viewed as mandatory for every application. However, where subsequent coatings are to be applied, it is important to produce a dust-free surface upon which to apply the coating

    Instructions for use
    • Preparation:
    Clean the surface and remove any dust, unsound material, plaster, oil, paint, grease, corrosion deposits or algae. Roughen the surface to remove any latency and expose the fine aggregate by light scabbling or grit-blasting.
    Oil and grease deposits should be removed by steam cleaning, detergent scrubbing or the use of a proprietary degreaser. The effectiveness of decontamination should then be assessed by a pull-off test.
    Renderoc repair mortars require no additional preparation prior to the application of Renderoc FC.
    The cleaned areas should be blown clean with oil-free compressed air before continuing. All prepared areas should be thoroughly soaked with clean water immediately prior to the application of Renderoc FC. Any residual surface water should be removed prior to commencement.
    • Mixing - Small quantities:
    Care should be taken to ensure that Renderoc FC is thoroughly mixed. Small quantities (up to 5 kg) can be mixed using a suitable mixing drum or bucket. Greater quantities should be mixed using a forced-action mixer. Mixing in a suitably sized drum using an approved spiral paddle attached to an approved slow speed (400/500 rpm) heavy-duty drill is an acceptable alternative.
    If mixing small quantities by hand, Renderoc FC should be volume-batched. Add 3 volumes of the Renderoc FCpowder (loose-filled to excess and struck off level with the top of the measuring container) to one volume of potable water. This should be mixed vigorously until fully homogeneous.
    • Mixing - Large volumes:
    For larger volumes, place 5 to 5.33 liters of cool, potable water into the mixer and, with the machine in operation, add one full 20 kg bag of Renderoc FC and mix continuously for 3 to 5 minutes until fully homogeneous.

    Description

    CONCURE P is a polymer emulsion liquid membrane curing compound, milky white in color and cures to a dear film.

     

    Properties

    CONCURE P consists of a stable emulsion based on suitable processed P.V.A. emulsions, plasticisers etc.

     

    Application

    Stir contents thoroughly before using. Spray CONCURE P
    as evenly as possible over the freshly laid concrete as soon
    as possible after final trowelling when the surface water has disappeared (approx. 1 -2 hours depending on the ambient temperature and atmospheric conditions). If spray equipment is not available, apply with a soft brush, broom or wide nap rolled as soon as the concrete surface is hard enough.

    Apply to the vertical surface immediately after the formwork has been removed. Apply at an even coverage rate of not greater than 6 sq. meter per liter.

    Ensure the concrete surface is completely free of stains, oils, form coatings, etc., to obtain good adhesion of CONCURE P and of any other trades, and to avoid obtaining discoloration or uneven surface effects.


    Cleaning

    Immediately after use, the spraying equipment should be cleaned out, especially the line and nozzle, with water.


    Spraying Equipment

    For the application of CONCURE P various types of spraying equipment can be supplied, i.e. Knapsack or motorized sprayers.


    Limitation

    Do not use CONCURE P in areas where after painting and rendering are carried out, there would be back water pressure or condensation.

    Do not apply to stain, oil or contaminated concrete or render surfaces, which can cause the change of color, non- uniformity or inhibit the bond of subsequent surface treatment.

    Do not dilute CONCURE P with water or solvent.


    Storage

    All containers must be kept sealed and stored under cover with no exposure to the sun.


    Precautions

    Health and Safety

    If contact with the resin occurs, the skin should be washed with soap and water - not solvent. A resin removing cream should preferably be used. Goggles should be worn when spraying with a short lance. Any eye contamination should be washed with plenty of water and medical treatment sought When used in enclosed areas, good ventilation must be provided.


    Fire

    CONCURE P is non-flammable and non-toxic under normal usage.

    Nitocote CM210 two-component polymer modified cementitious coating is supplied in pre-packaged form. The product is designed to be easily mixed on site using a slow speed drill fitted with a mixing paddle and then applied to the substrate using a trowel for best results.
    Nitocote CM210, available in grey and white, cures to form an elastomeric impermeable membrane.Specification
    The waterproofing coating shall be Nitocote CM210, an elastomeric cementitious coating approved under the UK WBS (WRc Listed) Scheme No. 0510522. The cured coating, after immersion, shall be capable of withstanding
    cracked substrate cyclic movement from 0 - 300 - 0 microns at 15°C for 6,000 cycles without failure. It shall have the capability to resist a positive water pressure of 5 bar and a negative water pressure of 3 bar when tested to European standard CEN/TC 67-67072:2003 part A-7.Instructions for use
    Preparation
    All surfaces which are to receive the coating, must be free from oil, laitence, grease, wax, dirt or any other form of foreign matter which could affect adhesion. Typically, concrete surfaces can be cleaned using high pressure water jet or grit blasting. Spalled surfaces or those containing large blowholes, cracks and other such defects up to 10 mm depth, should be repaired using Nitocote CM210. For further advice on suitable repair mortars for larger scale repairs, contact the local Fosroc office.
    Mixing
    The liquid polymer (5 kg) is poured from the plastic container into a plastic or metal drum having a volume of at least 20 litres. To this, the powder is gradually added (18 kg) whilst mixing with an approved spiral paddle attachment on a slow speed drill. Mixing is continued until a lump free slurry is obtained. This should take a minimum of 3 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes.
    Application
    Pre-dampen the substrate surface with water . High porosity substrates will require more dampening than dense substrates. Any condensation should be removed using a sponge. Any running water should be stopped with Renderoc Plug. Contact the local Fosroc office for further advice on other suitable water stopping materials.
    When the concrete surface is damp, apply the material using a trowel The first coat should be applied at a minimum wet film thickness of 1 mm (approximate coverage is 1.9 kg/m2) and should be well brushed into the surface.
    Finish in one direction for a neat appearance. Application may also be made by roller, however it is recommended to finish the surface with a trowel for best results.
    The first coat should be allowed to cure for a minimum of 5 hours at 20°C or 3 hours at 35°C and longer at lower temperatures. The material should not be applied at temperatures below 5°C. All the mixed material should be used within 2 hours at 20°C or 1 hour at 35°C.
    The second coat should also be applied at a minimum wet film thickness of 1 mm and finished in one direction. Pre-dampening of the surface is not necessary when applying the second coat.Spray application
